The 2015 vintage was one of the warmest growing seasons on record in Washington State and Columbia Valley saw optimal ripening and great yields for Chardonnay. This offering was sourced from multiple vineyard lots resulting in a complex, layered Chardonnay. After fermentation, approximately 30% of the wine was aged in once used oak barrels adding richness and mouthfeel without overbearing oak notes.
It is crafted in a fresh, soft style with bright apple and sweet citrus fruit character with subtle spice and oak nuances. This is a very clean, refreshing, fruity version of top-notch Washington Chardonnay. Pair with vegetarian pastas, white fish, or chicken dishes. It also makes a good accompaniment to seafood such as shrimp or scallops
My Wine Review:
My preference for Chardonnay is for those that are un-oaked. I do not like the oak flavor or after taste of some chardonnays. This wine, even though it was aged in Oak, had more of a buttery and smooth taste. It was great paired with a seafood pasta. It really held up nicely to the pasta and tomato sauce.

2016 Tempranillo La Mancha DO
The largest and most famous plateau of Spain is home to a wine region where old vines of Tempranillo, Airen, Sauvignon Blanc and Bobal grow to perfection. Back in the 1800s, growers of important areas like Spain's Rioja and France's Bordeaux knew of the magnificent potential of harvests produced in this part of La Mancha. They purchased wines from this region and took them home to blend with their own.
La Buena Espera was established in 1955 in the heart of La Mancha by 25 vine growers. Their Tempranillo is sourced from 100% La Mancha Tempranillo grapes. It is aged sur lie in stainless steel for 3 months. The wine pours an attractive red cherry color in the glass. Fresh aromas of raspberry, cherry, and blackberry co-mingle with subtle notes of almond and hazelnut. Earthy minerals and spicy black fruits lead to a fruit-forward, easygoing, friendly red which will deliver enjoyment over the next 3-4 years.
My personal review: We had never tried a Tempranillo before receiving this one in our monthly wine club shipment. I am one that doesn't normally go for a red, but this wine is wonderful. We served it slightly chilled. It has a fruity flavor making it a good pair for light appetizers, salads or even desserts!
